The short version

Cool is a personal AI assistant. When Cool contacts a website or a service, a specific, signed-in person asked it to, in that moment. This page is written for the operators of the websites and services Cool visits. It describes Cool as it works today and will be updated as Cool gains capabilities.

Each Cool instance is a single-tenant server run for one customer. There is no shared crawler or index behind it.

What Cool does today

  • Acts only on a person's instruction. Cool does not browse, crawl, index, or fetch anything on its own initiative.
  • Reads a page only when asked. When Cool reads a web page for someone, the request is made by our AI provider's fetching service on Cool's behalf. That service identifies itself to websites as an automated assistant acting for a user, comes from the provider's own infrastructure, and honours websites' robots.txt rules, including Crawl-delay. It fetches only the page a person asked about; it does not crawl.
  • Shops without paying. Where a merchant supports the Universal Commerce Protocol, Cool can search the catalogue and build a cart for the person. Cool never completes a purchase and never holds a payment instrument; the person pays, in their own session. The protocol requires Cool to tell the merchant the IP address and browser user agent of the person it is shopping for at that moment; our Privacy Policy describes this.

What Cool does not do

  • It does not solve CAPTCHAs or route around a block. If a site challenges Cool to prove it is human, Cool stops and tells the person.
  • It does not disguise itself as a browser or change its identity to get past a refusal.
  • It does not log in to third-party sites as the person.
  • It does not train any model on what it reads for people. Cool Cloud never does; under our commercial terms our AI provider does not either. A person who has connected their own consumer account with the AI provider is governed by their own agreement and settings with that provider, as our Privacy Policy explains.

How to reach us, or stop us

Cool's provider honours robots.txt, so a rule aimed at AI assistants that act for users will stop Cool reading your site. If you would rather we simply stop — for any reason, or none — write to hello@coolcloud.com with your domain and we will confirm in writing. The same address takes questions and reports of unexpected traffic; include what you saw in your logs and we will answer.

Disclosure

Cool is an artificial-intelligence system, not a person. When Cool contacts a service or a business on someone's behalf it identifies itself as an AI assistant acting for that person. For customers in the European Union this is our practice under Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689.
